Comment: 12 years after the above procedures, at the age of 70, this patient still looks refreshed and is happy with the outcome of her eyelid and festoon procedures.

Condition: Longstanding history of hereditary, large fluid-filled festoons and lower lid bags exacerbated by severe seasonal allergies. She has some hooding in the upper lids but this does not bother her at this time.
Solution: Incredible improvement after laser lower blepharoplasty and direct festoon repair.
Please Note: The 6 days after surgery photo is typical of the extent of bruising and swelling patients experience after Dr. Gupta’s advanced lower bleph/festoon procedure. At 7 weeks, this patient looks incredible but there is still some swelling which will continue to dissipate and lead to further improvement of her result. It is important to remember that complete healing takes up to one year, but most patients start enjoying their new, refreshed look as early as 2-3 weeks postoperatively.

Condition: This patient was advised her festoons were a result of “lymphedema” from a facial herpes infection she contracted 10 years prior and that she would have to live with her festoons. Prior to consulting Dr. Gupta she underwent an upper and lower blepharoplasty and a repeat “exploratory” lower blepharoplasty with no improvement of her festoons.
Solution: After suffering for 10 years, this patient attained a beautiful transformation just 2 weeks after Dr. Gupta performed revision upper and lower blepharoplasty and direct festoon repair. Intraoperatively, copious amounts of Juvederm were encountered in the upper and lower lids, which was removed. The diagrammatic nicely illustrates in the before photo the Juvederm-induced upper lid edema and festoons (right greater than left) from a worm’s eye view. Age at presentation: 38 Years
History: Malar fluid festoons resulting from recurrent bouts of swelling from allergies. Patient very bothered by the tired look caused by these festoons and undereye bags, dark circles, and discoloration. The no-flash photo is included to better visualize and delineate these changes.
Procedures: Direct festoon repair, laser lower blepharoplasty
Comment: Despite living in Florida with heavy sun, this patient’s lower lids have maintained nicely and 11 years later, he is festoon-free.

History: This patient’s hereditary festoons were exacerbated by Voluma injections given into the upper cheek area by a local surgeon. She was also bothered by lower lid bags and skin excess. No-flash photos are included to better visualize and delineate these changes.
Procedures: Direct festoon repair and laser lower lid blepharoplasty.
Comment: This patient’s lower lids look amazing 3 years after the above procedures and she remains festoon-free.

History: This patient was severely depressed when festoons (her left side greater than right) resulted from hyaluronic acid injections given under the eyes and upper cheeks by a local surgeon. Moreover, the filler mound created a ledge every time she smiled which made her self-conscious. She also felt that the excess filler stretched out her skin and made it loose.
Procedure: Reversal of filler with internal festoon repair and enzyme and lower lid blepharoplasty for removal of excess skin.
Comment: Within a few weeks of the above procedures, the patient could not stop smiling as she had become festoon-free.

History: This patient developed festoons after scalpel upper and lower blepharoplasty performed by a local surgeon. Excessive scar tissue had formed in the upper and lower lids leading to puckering, banding, and festoon formation.
Comment: 14 months after above procedures, her healing is pristine. The eyes look refreshed and she is festoon-free.

History: Hereditary festoons and dark under eye circles and bags yielding a very tired look. Her eyelid appearance made her self-conscious and lowered her self-confidence at work. She did not like to make eye contact with her clients.

Comment: This patient’s new eyes helped her reclaim her smile and confidence. She is still healing but is already looking refreshed and the festoons are virtually gone.
